Advanced Excel 13

Increase your Excel efficiency with advanced skills for business or home applications. Some of the features you will learn include advanced formulas for manipulating data; linking workbooks and consolidating data across workbooks; creating and using pull-down menus and Excel macros in spreadsheets. You will become familiar with the “IF”, “Look Up”, and “Loan” functions. Registration limited to a maximum of 8 so register early! Prerequisite: Beginner Excel 13. Course is taught in our computer lab, but bringing your own laptop is an option. (Senior discount $42)

Building a website is no longer just for computer geeks. WordPress makes it possible for anyone to create and run a professional looking website for hobbies, or business. Even if you are an absolute beginner, the goal of this class is to have you building a professional looking website in just a few short hours. You will learn to: use the WordPress dashboard; create pages and posts and know the difference between the two; create a static homepage useful for most websites; and create a responsive website that looks good on a tv or a phone. By the end of the class you will be confidently building great looking, professional websites that you can update and maintain for years to come. Bring your own laptop or use one of ours. This class will work with any web browser.

Getting to Know Your iPad

Your new iPad came with some cool apps, do you know how to use them? Be sure to bring your fully charged iPad or iPad mini to this class, where we will look at how to turn it on and off, organize icons, change power settings, find and install apps, how to close running apps, and even how to "reboot" your iPad. During thesecond week, you will learn how to copy and paste text and images, how to use the onscreen, or connect an external keyboard, and learn all those little tips and tricks that make surfing the web on your iPad faster and easier. By the third class, you will learn howto use your calendar, manage your contacts, take notes, use your camera, and make video calls with FaceTime. (Senior discount $28)

Come explore the best methods for selling your merchandise on eBay, the world’s largest onlinemarketplace! In this hands-on class, you will learn how to list an item for sale, set up a PayPal account, the ins and outs of packing and shipping, leaving feedback, doing research before buying, and some potential pitfalls to avoid. Requirements: basic computer and some photography skills (cell phonecamera is fine), internet and email skills. Bring your laptop or let the office know you will need to use one from NACE. Jareth Johnson has over 15 years experience buying and selling antiques and collectibles at public auction houses and online auction sites like eBay. Maximum 8 students.
