Chandelier Quilt

Make a beautiful quilt that shines as bright as a diamond. Using charm packs, learn how you can make a chandelier quilt with guidance from Jane Parsons. These blocks might look complicated to make, but you'll find it's simple and a great versatile pattern. This class is great for sewers who are newer to sewing quilt blocks, as well as veteran quilters. 

Supplies/Matierlas for class:
• Sewing Machine
• General sewing supplies (rotary cutter, scissors, etc)Fabric
• 2 charm packs or fat quarters of scraps 
or
• 3 yards of background fabric
• 4 yards of backing fabricConsider using 2 different fabric scraps or all
  the blocks may be different

Paper Piecing

Want to learn how to make perfect points? Come join our class and learn how to do paper foundation piecing! We will be focusing on the style of the Mariner’s Compass Star Block (images are samples of the technique and not the block you will be making). You will have a choice of 24 patterns. They look complicated but are simple to make! 

Materials List:
• Colored Pattern, to help determine colors of fabric, will be given to you
   at registration
• Sewing Machine, Basic sewing supplies and 90/14 sewing machine 
  needle
• Open-Toe Presser Foot
• Thread
• Fabric- the amount will depend on if you select different colors for each     square or plan to use the same colors.

No class 10/25, 11/8, 11/22
Class is limited to 10 people, be sure to register early!

Finish those UFOs (aka unfinished objects) or start a new one. Pick up helpful tips from fellow stitchers and make new friends! Escape those constant interruptions at home with over five hours of sewing and camaraderie. Show and tell is encouraged, and no one is too new to join in the fun! Bring handwork or your sewing machine and supplies. Iron, ironing board, cutting mats and rulers supplied.

Space is limited to 14 people so be sure to register early! 


Class times are as follows: 
Friday: 5pm-8:30pm
Saturday: 9am-3pm

Sewing Open Studio

Every sewist knows what it’s like to cut their fabric on the floor and then sew at the kitchen table. We also know it’s a bit lonely and sometimes frustrating to find help when we are stuck on a particularly baffling pattern instruction. NACE is home to an open sewing group that meets Monday evenings. Whether you’re trying to complete unfinished projects or start new ones, Nancy will be on hand to guide you through the difficult spots. Bring your sewing machine and supplies, or do hand work. NACE has irons, ironing boards, cutting mats, and rulers available to use during class time. 

Fabric Tree

Why throw out leftover scraps of Christmas/ Holiday fabric or strips of batting when you can give them new life? Join Janet as she shows you how to create these beautiful fabric trees, perfect for any occasion! The tree that she will show you how to make is roughly 8 1/2" x 5" in size. 

Janet will be available for assistance Friday November 3rd during quilters weekend.

Supplies/materials for class:
• Sewing machine
• Needles: microtex 90/14 and jeans 110/18
• General sewing supplies (rotary cutter, scissors, etc)

Body Fabric
• 1 yard or 13 strips 2 1/2" x 42/44"

Binding Fabric

• 1/2 yard or 6 strips 2 1/2" x 42/44"

Batting

• 1 yard of 45 wide batting

The rolled pillowcase method (also called a burrito or French seam method) is not only a simple pattern, but you can make really beautiful and unique pillowcases that you can't buy at the store.
