Sewing & Quilt Weekends
with NACE Staff
Finish those UFOs (aka unfinished objects) or start a new one. Pick up helpful tips from fellow stitchers and make new friends! Escape those constant interruptions at home with over five hours of sewing and camaraderie. Show and tell is encouraged, and no one is too new to join in the fun! Bring handwork or your sewing machine and supplies. Iron, ironing board, cutting mats and rulers supplied.
Space is limited to 16 people so be sure to register early!

Self-Defense for Seniors

No matter your age, learning self defense strategies is important. As we get older and our bodies are not as fast as they used to be, it is easy to become a target. But there are steps you can take. Build confidence with the help of instructor Emma, who will help teach students different tactics for older adults that they can use in protecting themselves.

Ramen
with Emma Wyatt
Want to learn how to make your own ramen at home? In this one-night class you will get to do just that! Emma will guide you through the process of making your own bulgogi beef ramen at home. From making the marinade for the beef, preparing the vegetables, as well as learning the proper way to cook a soft-boiled egg. After class, everyone will get to enjoy the final product. Be sure to bring a mason jar for you to bring your own stock home and a container for any leftovers that you would like to bring home.
The fee for this class covers the cost of materials.
Self-Defense for the General Public

This class will focus on basic self defense concepts that someone who has not attended martial arts classes would be able to perform. It will also help you start to build confidence in yourself. This is a beginner class, and there are more options after this for people if they would like.
Make a "Fall or Halloween" Frame Art!

Want to make your own one-of-a-kind piece of art that you can give as a gift or keep for yourself. In this one-day class, Katie will bring a number of her Stampin Up tools and share different techniques to help you create your own unique art piece. Techniques that you will learn in this class include: embossing, die cutting, watercoloring, layering, and creating custom backgrounds with the use of stamps.
Please bring a 12” X 12” frame of your choice that you want your piece to be displayed in.
Holy Gourd! The wonders of using gourds for cooking

Did you know that there is a lot more to gourds than meets the eye? Besides being used as decorative features during the holidays, you can also utilize them in your cooking endeavors. In this one-night class, you will learn about an assortment of different types of gourds, how to prepare them, and how they can be used in a variety of different meals! Gourds Emma will go over with the class are; Squash, Spaghetti Squash, Pumpkin, Zucchini, Summer Acorn. Bring a container for any leftovers that you would like to bring home.

Ghosts of the Bird Cage Theatre

The Bird Cage is one of the most haunted buildings in Tombstone, Arizona. It is known for its colorful history in the 1880s as a playhouse, gambling den, saloon, and house of prostitution where several murders were committed and ghosts linger. Upon visiting the famous historic landmark of the U.S. Old West, Rob encountered many ghosts that were confirmed by museum curators. His book is filled with Rob’s encounters with up to 11 different ghosts, you’ll see his sketches of various ghosts, photos, and read about how they revealed their identities.
