Drop Your Feed Dog and Quilt

Pat has updated her class and extended it one week based on your recommendations! Learn to quilt on your home sewing machine. You will learn how to decide what type of quilting and what designs will go best. Experience stippling, free hand, stencils, traced designs. Tools available to experience; embroidery hoop, rulers, gloves, light box, etc.

 

Embroidery for Beginners

No experience required! Come to this class and learn some basic stitches that will open the door to embroidery on cloth or wool. Understand how the right needle and thread can make all the difference. Materials will be supplied, and you only need to bring a pair of fabric scissors and your imagination! Leave with a finished piece you will be proud to display in your home.

Many embroidering enthusiasts started when they were children, and they have fond memories of learning from their parents or grandparents. This class teaches basic hand stitching for ages 10 and up. You will learn to use scissors safely, trace patterns, and how to select the right thread and needle. You will complete a small embroidered piece to frame or use as part of a larger project. Kit included in cost of class. Materials needed: fabric scissors and a plastic container to keep your project in. Maximum is 6.

Whether developing spreadsheets for business use or home, this course will assist you in becoming proficient in the basic features of Excel. Learn to organize and edit data; enter and format cell contents; select cells and ranges; format print worksheets; insert and delete columns, rows, and cells; and create simple formulas and functions in a fun and relaxed environment. This course is ideal for the mid-beginning and beginner Excel user. Registration limited to a maximum of 8 so register early! Book cost approximately $25. Senior discount for course is $45.

Some of the features you will learn include advanced formulas for manipulating data; linking workbooks and consolidating data across workbooks; creating and using pull-down menus and Excel macros in spreadsheets. You will become familiar with the “IF”, “Look Up”, and “Loan” functions. Registration limited to a maximum of 8 so register early! Prerequisite: Excel I.
