Gentle Beginner Hatha Yoga - Session 3

Join us for a class in Hatha Yoga led by certified instructor, Nancy Cotty. The focus will be on stretching and breathing while building strength and finding peace. All levels are welcome. Sessions run throughout the year and new participants are welcome anytime. *NOTE: No class Dec 27 General Information for Yoga Classes: All equipment will be provided. Information learned through a yoga class should not be considered a substitute for medical advice. All yoga classes have a drop-in fee of $12.00 per week. No senior discount.

 

Grocery Bag Class

A great class for beginners, in just a few hours you will create a pretty and practical fabric grocery bag that’s great for shopping, errands or storing projects. They’re easy to load, have wide handles, and are machine washable. Materials fee $10. Halloween Goodie Bag

Create a one-of-a-kind Trick or Treat tote that can be used over and over again. Put on your creative juices and paint a quality bag ready to fill with your favorite treats. Materials fee of $7 payable to the instructor. Class fee is $12 per parent/child team.

with MSAD60 Adult & Community Education

Calendar Sep 11, 2017 at 9 am, runs for 15 weeks

Continue your high school education at your own pace by building on previously earned credits through class work and independent study. The High School Diploma program is free of charge for any State of Maine resident. NACE has both a fall and a winter/spring semester with continuing independent study classes for currently enrolled students in the summer. Classes take place in small traditional classroom settings with online and independent study options for those who qualify. Registration requirements include: 

• Must be at least 17 years of age 

• Must be officially withdrawn from high school for at least one semester

• Must need fewer than 5 credits towards a total of 24.5 credits 

• Must have a grade 9 equivalent reading score on the CASAS assessment

Hip Opener Workshop

Calendar Nov 1, 2017 at 6 pm, runs for 1 week

This workshop is designed to loosen and stretch the hip joint so that movement in that area is easier and less tense. We will combine restorative yoga poses with some that will increase flexibility and strengthen the body (especially the hip joints). Much of what is covered can be done at home so you can continue opening the hips and leg muscles on your own. General Information for Yoga Classes: All equipment will be provided. Holiday Angel Ornaments

Make beautiful angel ornaments for yourself or family and friends. Choose from two different styles and make as many as you like. Please bring a hot glue gun. Materials of $5.00 payable to instructor. Additional materials may be purchased to make additional angels at home.

Jewelry Design

Calendar Oct 25, 2017 at 6 pm, runs for 1 week

Learn to create your own beaded jewelry using a variety of skills and materials. Get tips and suggestions to help you create a unique piece of jewelry. All levels welcome! Cost of materials depends on the project you select: earrings, bracelet or necklace. Material fee: minimum of $5 to be paid to instructor.

 

Lip Balm and Essential Oil Basics - Session 1

You will make and take home 6 tubes of lip balm. As the office staff can attest, these make great gifts or use yourself! We go over the basics of essential oil properties and uses. If time allows, we will make a surprise take-home gift. A $7 materials fee is payable directly to the instructor.
