Absolute Beginner Yoga
with NANCY COTTY
This 4-week introductory yoga class is great for the curious who want to try yoga or have not practiced in awhile. It is a comfortable relaxed environment and appropriate to use as a refresher. Nancy will guide the class through basic poses and focus on proper alignment of the body. Flexibility is not needed in this class. Drop in fee is $12.00.

This class is for beginning and intermediate painters. Topics such as composition, design, color theory, color mixing, color harmony, materials and techniques will be discussed. In addition to learning the fundamentals of painting with acrylics, classes will offer opportunities for experimentation, creativity, and time to work on your own projects.
Acrylic paints... If you're buying a set, try to make sure that the following colors are included: White, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Cadmium Red Medium, Cobalt Blue, Dioxazine Purple, Ultramarine Blue, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, Permanent Green.
Brushes (various sizes)
Palette (Wax paper will suffice)
Palette knife (for mixing paint)
Watercolor paper, illustration board, any heavy paper, canvas boards, stretched canvas (We’ll begin with heavy paper surfaces. Canvas need not be purchased at the beginning)

Advanced ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages)

This class is for those students who have mastered basic English reading and writing skills. Student placement is based on individual writing and reading assessments. Students will set short and long term academic goals that compliment clear career and employment goals to help guide this student-centered learning environment. Topics are tailored to support individual goals. Course is partially funded through an AEFLA grant. Instructor: Donka Theriault Mondays, January 23 - May 15 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM No charge to Maine residents.

Take your skills to the next level - learn exposure compensation to enhance night shots like fireworks and bokeh. Refine your vision to see a "picture within a picture". Learn about filters, tripods, monitor calibration and additional processing techniques. Prerequisite - Photo 101, Design, and Workflow for dslr cameras.

Create a useful home decoration or a focus gift for any holiday! Using alcohol ink on tiles you will design a unique tile. Students should wear an old shirt or apron as the ink is permanent. Bring a cookie sheet to transport your project home...it will take about 8 hours to completely set. These make great useful decorations. A materials fee of $7.50 is paid directly to instructor for each tile set. If you wish to take home additional materials to continue creating at home, please let us know by March 29.

Angel Card Reading

This class connects you with your angels so you can experience them as you never have before. Angels are all around us and all we have to do to connect with them is to have the intent. In this class, you will begin to understand your psychic abilities and understand we all have them. With the assistance of Angel Cards, learn to communicate with your Angels, and find the answers you've been looking for! Must bring your own deck of "Doreen Virtue Angel" cards to class.

Develop the skills to draw what you see. You will begin with the basics: contour, perspective, value shading , composition, and gesture. Moving on you will do observational drawing using line, gesture, shape, value and texture to record and interpret reality. Materials list: Sketchbook, Kneaded Eraser, Various Pencils, 2B – 6B
