This class is for those students who have mastered basic English reading and writing skills. Student placement is based on individual writing and reading assessments. Students will set short and long term academic goals that compliment clear career and employment goals to help guide this student-centered learning environment. Topics are tailored to support individual goals. Course is partially funded through an AEFLA grant.

Come to create a woven bottomed sturdy “D” handled rectangular basket! Add color of your choice to personalize your basket. Materials fee of $16 payable to instructor the night of class. We are looking forward to Martha’s return to NACE to share her creative ideas and unique style. Supply list: mop sized bucket, sturdy shears, tape measure, pencil, 12 spring type clothespins, jack knife, spray bottle, and an old towel.

Lessons include how our country was formed, important U.S. texts and governing documents. This class is funded through an AEFLA grant and may be taken more than once.

Academy of Medical Professions (AMP) is rolling out this new high demand program which will run 16 weeks, 2 nights per week.  Medical Assistants are responsible for a variety of medical office tasks from administrative to technical and scientific duties, and must have quality human relations skills. Our program provides virtual reality style classroom work as well as traditional style teaching for a blended learning experience.  Practicals are performed during the program to ensure that the student has proper techniques and will be ready to pass the National Certification. Upon completion, you will sit for your CCMA (Clinical Certified Medical Assistant) national certification exams through NHA. Externships may be available in your area. Cost includes national certification, 6 practice exams, online study guide materials, books, resume assistance, and all other associated fees. After completing the program you will be provided the opportunity to sit for The Dental Assisting National Board, Inc. (DANB), Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) and Infection Control (ICE) exams. English Speakers of Other Languages will focus on language skills found in the workplace as well as home and throughout the community. You will establish career goals, explore workplace vocabulary in careers of your choice, and build communication skills found in all three environments. Students will experience team building skills, how to fill out job applications, basic computer skills, and build a skill based resume. This is a partially AEFLA funded class and students welcome to begin at any time.
