Soup is one of those perfectly versatile foods—it makes a satisfying lunch or light dinner, and is especially welcome on a cold winter day. Nothing is more convenient than a can of soup when you don’t have the time or energy to cook. But store-bought soups can be laden with sodium, calories and fat. And homemade soup is time-consuming to make. Luckily, there is a way to preserve your homemade soup recipes by pressure canning them. Join us to learn all about pressure canning, the method used to preserve fruits, vegetables, meats, poultry, fish, and other food items. You will learn its safety, history, and canning tools/utensils. Each student will take home a jar of soup. All materials included in cost of class. Long hair must be secured.Please bring a hand towel or potholder to carry your hot jar home.
