Play The Ukulele, Your Journey Begins Here!

Learn to play the ukulele! It has never been more popular, and you don't even have to know how to read music! On the uke you can knock out folk music, rock, blues, jazz, pop, and country tunes old and new -- even classical music.
Join instructor Duncan Perry on ZOOM, who has taught more than 700 students of all ages, and who will introduce you to essential chords and playing techniques using commonly known songs. Oh, and there are lots of laughs along the way. And, learning to play an instrument is good for your brain! You will need a playable ukulele and an electronic tuner or a tuner app. And when folks hear you play this happy instrument, well, they just have to smile!
If you don’t own a ukulele, please contact us for information. What are you waiting for? Grab a uke and get ready for a musical adventure, then spread the joy!
Card Making with Katie!

Why buy a card from the store when you can make your own? Instructor Katie joins us this Fall to help you get creative and design your very own beautiful and unique card. She is an independant "Stampin' Up" demonstrator that will show you how to go from kit to card. The cost of the class includes card kits for 4 total cards, and Katie will show you how to create 2 different card designs in class. Please bring glue and a pair of scissors with you. What are you waiting for? Lets get stampin'!

All Things Paper

Paper has been around for 2,000 years, and we are going to explore all facets of it! Join Gayle in this 4-night class where you will dive into a number of fun paper making. This class will cover learning how to make your very own paper, how to do a marbling effect for your paper, book binding, sculpting, and creating amazing cards.
Materials fee: $7 and payable to the instructor on the first night of class.
Knitting

Join us for a fun, no pressure knitting experience! This 7-week knitting class is great for not only beginners, but for anyone who may be a little rusty. You'll learn how to cast on, master the basic and purl stitches, learn some tips and tricks on repairing mistakes, and learn how to read a pattern! Vicky is a passionate knitter and always makes classes fun for her students.
Now offering back-to-back daytime and evening classes!
Cant make a full session? Student drop-ins are welcome! Drop-In fee is $12 per class.
Annual Family Literacy Pajama Party!

NACE is excited to welcome author Marie Miller to our 20th Annual Family Literacy Pajama Party! Wear your PJs and bring the whole family to this FREE, fun-filled event that will include the reading of Marie's book
"Where Do You Sleep?", raffle prizes and healthy snacks. Copies of "Where Do You Sleep?" will be available for purchase for $12.99.
Marie Miller is a board-certified neurologic music therapist and owner of Rhythm and Strings Music Therapy, LLC, in Southern Maine. She is passionate about creating rhythm-based resources that help children build skills in the areas of speech, language, motor planning, academic sensory regulation. She loves to develop and implement teaching methods that make learning fun, engaging, and effective.
Marie creates multisensory learning experiences that combine music, visuals, and movements to increase engagement and enhance learning. She has written over one hundred children’s songs that target specific developmental goals. This book is one of those songs!
Where do you Sleep? is a singable picture book about the sleeping habits of animals targeting expressive and receptive language skills, and beginning literacy. The book is beautifully illustrated by Erika Parker Rogers, and printed by an FSC-certified, Green Printing company.
Soap Making

Learn how to make your own soap with the melt and pour method! In this one-night class, Beth will show you how you can make your very own homemade soap using essential oils. She will show you how to mix combinations of oils to make unique aromas that you enjoy, or make some for a loved one as a nice holiday gift! Please bring a microwaveable glass measuring cup and bowl. If you want your soap to be in a specific shape, you can bring your own silicone mould to pour the soap into! (Please note once you use these moulds for soap, you should not use them for cooking).
Materials fee: $7 payable to the instructor, with the option to purchase additional materials.
Ceramic Ornaments

So many families have the wonderful holiday tradition of collecting new ornaments for each family member every Christmas. This year, add some handmade ornaments to your collection in this fun and festive ceramics class! The first class will be for ornament creation; the second class will be focused on glazing those ornaments; and the third class we will add ribbon or twine hangers to finish your lovel creations!
*$12 for supplies payable to the instructor. Supplies fee includes creating 10-12 ornaments with glaze and ribbon/twine.
