Play The Ukulele, Your Journey Begins Here!

Learn to play the ukulele! It has never been more popular, and you don't even have to know how to read music! On the uke you can knock out folk music, rock, blues, jazz, pop, and country tunes old and new -- even classical music.
Join instructor Duncan Perry on ZOOM, who has taught more than 700 students of all ages, and who will introduce you to essential chords and playing techniques using commonly known songs. Oh, and there are lots of laughs along the way. And, learning to play an instrument is good for your brain! You will need a playable ukulele and an electronic tuner or a tuner app. And when folks hear you play this happy instrument, well, they just have to smile! What are you waiting for? Grab a uke and get ready for a musical adventure, then spread the joy!

Soap Pouring

Explore a variety of soap bases, colors, essential oils, molds, and textures to create personalized soaps for yourself, your loved ones, and friends Please bring a 2 cup microwavable glass container. You can also purchase additional materials during class.

Drawing II

Students in Drawing II will engage in sequential learning experiences that encompass aesthetics and production and lead to the creation of portfolio quality works. Further development of drawing skills is the primary objective of this class and uses the human figure, landscape, still life and design work to help accomplish this goal. Students will learn various techniques and different approaches to drawing through the use of chalk, colored pencil, conte crayon, pastels, pen and ink, charcoal, and pencil. Drawing II students will critique their own and others' works.
Quilting 101
with Mandy Furbush
Do you want to learn how to quilt but feel overwhelmed about getting started? Sign up for this beginner 6-night class to learn basic techniques and skills. Included is common quilting terminology, parts of the sewing machine, using quilting tools such as the rotary cutter, achieving an accurate ¼” quilting seam, and how to read a pattern. As you go through the class, you will work on and finish a beginner quilted table runner. If you have a sewing machine, you can bring it to class, but if you do not have one, let NACE staff know ahead of time, and we can provide a machine for the duration of the class. Fabrics for the project should be purchased prior to the second class.

Hand Embroidery

Have you ever wanted to learn how to hand embroider? Look no further! In this two-night class, Heather will teach you the ins and outs to get you started on your hand embroidery journey. You will learn basic stitches, learn about materials you can embroider, and understand how the right needle and thread can make all the difference. This is a great class for all skill levels. By the end of the class, you will have completed an embroidery piece that you can display proudly in your home.
Don't forget to bring your imagination!

Make a Garlic Basket

Learn to weave a quick basket that is perfect for storing your garlic, onions, or anything! This twill technique comes together quickly and easily for a beautifully finished product in just one class!

Tools & Techniques For Homemade Cards
with Katie Nickerson
Learn techniques to create homemade cards, scrapbook pages, and framed art pieces! In this two-night class, Katie will bring a number of her Stampin Up tools and share how to use these tools using different techniques to help you create your own unique cards. Techniques that you will learn in this class include: embossing, die cutting, watercoloring, layering, and creating custom backgrounds with the use of stamps. Please bring glue and a pair of scissors with you.
Class 1: Embossing and die cutting are great ways to add texture and dimension to your cards. In this class, you will learn how to use an embossing and die-cutting machine to create a stunning card. In this one-night class, Katie is going to show you two fun and messy techniques that you can use to create a unique color pattern like marble or gradient.
Class 2: Now that you have learned about using some key tools and unique techniques for creating beautiful cards, it’s time to put it all together. In this final class, you will get to utilize what you’ve learned to create layers and custom backgrounds for your cards.
