Make Your Own Elderberry Syrup!

$45

with Kayla Day

Calendar Next available session starts Mar 11, 2026 at 6 pm

Help your immune system during these cold Maine months by learning how to make your very own Elderberry Syrup! Elderberry is a great way to help in preventing (or lessen symptoms and duration) of colds and flus. Many store bought remedies can be expensive and loaded with sugar. Join Kayla in this one-night class where she will show you how to create your own batch at home! You’ll learn how to boil down the elderberries to create roughly 2 cups of your own syrup you can take home. The cost of the class includes the ingredients from Kayla, but if you would like to make another batch at home you can purchase extra ingredients for $20.

Materials to bring to class:
• 8oz of Honey ( Local honey is best )
• Cooking utensils including a spoon or whisk to use for stirring.
• A pot that can hold roughly 5 cups for a single batch before it gets rendered down
• Cheese Cloth or Fine Mesh Strainer
• Mason Jars or Container to put the syrup in

Pine Needle Basket

$75

with Zack Rouda

Calendar Next available session starts Mar 12, 2026 at 5:30 pm

White pine, Maine’s state flower, and Red pine, are ubiquitous throughout the state and provide a vital pool of resources for human and nonhuman Mainers alike. Pine needles are beautiful and strong! They can be coiled and sewn together to make hats, lovely usable baskets, and/or adorably tiny ones.

Learn to identify, regeneratively gather and harvest, properly store and process, and weave with pine needles. We'll cover the basics of coiled basketry, which is a global, ancient human skill, and create a wonderful pine-needle basket. Every participant will make a basket to take home.

Materials fee is included in the cost of the class!

** BROCHURE CORRECTION: Cost of the class is $75, not $65.
