In this presentation, Rob will share his experiences with other paranormal investigators at the home of Dr. Samuel Mudd, the Sotterley Plantation, Montpelier Mansion, and Howard Historic Society. You’ll see a ghost sketch that resembles an actual photo of the man who haunts a place, a photo of Dr. Mudd coming down a staircase, and more!

Learn to play the ukulele! It has never been more popular, and you don't even have to know how to read music! On the uke you can knock out folk music, rock, blues, jazz, pop, and country tunes old and new -- even classical music.

Join instructor Duncan Perry on ZOOM, who has taught more than 700 students of all ages, and who will introduce you to essential chords and playing techniques using commonly known songs. Oh, and there are lots of laughs along the way. And, learning to play an instrument is good for your brain! You will need a playable ukulele and an electronic tuner or a tuner app. And when folks hear you play this happy instrument, well, they just have to smile! What are you waiting for? Grab a uke and get ready for a musical adventure, then spread the joy!

Learn How to Find Signs from Departed Loved Ones

Holidays like Valentine's Day are times when spirits of loved ones give us messages. In this class you'll learn some signs to look for from your loved ones. To understand what happens after death and how to recognize communications from spirits of loved ones, this is a class for you. Learn what blocks messages and hear true encounters from others. By the end of the talk, you'll know what to look for. 

Soap Pouring

Explore a variety of soap bases, colors, essential oils, molds, and textures to create personalized soaps for yourself, your loved ones, and friends  Please bring a 2 cup microwavable glass container. You can also purchase additional materials during class.

A materials fee of $7 is due at the start of class to the instructor.

Drawing II

Students in Drawing II will engage in sequential learning experiences that encompass aesthetics and production and lead to the creation of portfolio quality works. Further development of drawing skills is the primary objective of this class and uses the human figure, landscape, still life and design work to help accomplish this goal. Students will learn various techniques and different approaches to drawing through the use of chalk, colored pencil, conte crayon, pastels, pen and ink, charcoal, and pencil. Drawing II students will critique their own and others' works. 

Hip Opener Workshop

This workshop is designed to loosen and stretch the hip joint so that movement in that area is easier and less tense. We will combine some restorative yoga poses with some that will increase flexibility and strengthen the body (especially the hip joints). Much of what we cover can be done at home after the workshop so you can continue opening the hips and leg muscles on your own.

All equipment will be provided for you. Information learned through yoga classes and workshops should not be considered a substitute for medical advice. 

Quilting 101

Do you want to learn how to quilt but feel overwhelmed about getting started? Sign up for this beginner 6-night class to learn basic techniques and skills. Included is common quilting terminology, parts of the sewing machine, using quilting tools such as the rotary cutter, achieving an accurate ¼” quilting seam, and how to read a pattern. As you go through the class, you will work on and finish a beginner quilted table runner. If you have a sewing machine, you can bring it to class, but if you do not have one, let NACE staff know ahead of time, and we can provide a machine for the duration of the class. Fabrics for the project should be purchased prior to the second class.
